Mash PH, how low is too low?

I miss calculated my acid addition and the mash PH was at 5.02, by the end of the rest it was 5.12. Is this too low? I usually shoot for 5.1-5.3 on my pale beers. So i’m not far off but I’m a little concerned.

IMO, close enough. The beer may be a bit sharper but nothing terrible.

I did experience low extract from the mash. I was shooting for 1.042 pre-boil and ended up with 1.032.

That’s weird. I wouldn’t think that pH was low enough to cause that.

Did you have a steady efficiency from your system beforehand or was your gravity expectation coming from a recipe?
