I had a buddy tell me that M.O. needs a longer Mash? is this true? if so, how much longer?
any help would be appreciated!

Heck no. English malts tend to convert if you look at them warmly.
Standard 60 minute mash is more then enough time for conversion with MO
I would consider a protein rest, some of us have had problems with cloudy beer when using floor malted MO. and I usually mash 75-90min just to get a nice dry finish. I also mash at 2+qt/lb so that may take a little longer than a thicker mash.
