Making wort

As I’ve done more reading on brewing, I’ve come to understand I can make a wort simply by dissolving malt extract into water and boiling it at a later date (aside from doing the whole boil at once). Am I completely mislead or is this a viable option? As always, all feedback and tips are appreciated

LME/DME is super concentrated wort.

Why would you want to add water to it and boil it at a later date?

Night, I was thinking the same thing. You would still need to heat enough water to a high enough temp to disolve you might as well spend the extra time finishing the boil.

Dissolving the extract in water and then boiling later would allow time for bacteria to become established. Some, like botulism, will not be killed by boiling.
