Making mead: when is it "clear" for drinking?

I’m making Chief Niwod Mead from the recipe in Joy of Home Brewing, and the recipe says to age it “until clear.” What does that mean? I bottled it today and it already looks clear. Any advice?

Advice? See the mead forum.

You can drink it at any time. Like beer or wine, mead is sometimes referred to as honey wine, some recipes get better with age. And any yeast or there solids will drop out of suspension over time and make it even clearer.
