When making a 10 gallon batch, can you split it up into 2 5gal fermentors and pitch an equal amount of yeast into both?

That’s what I do. I do a larger starter then pour half into each. You can also use different yeast in each, if ya want.
I use my 14 gallon heated/cooled conical most times. unless I want to use 2 different yeast strains or something.
no problem, its much easier to split a large batch for lifting transport and fitting into a fermchamber.
I brew 20 gallon batches and split it up into 6 fermentors.
I like this idea.
Thanks guys ! Going for 10 gallons next batch. Bucket and carboy ! 5 gallons just aint cutting it anymore !!
I just went to 10 gallon a few months back…it’s great! Almost the same amount of time brewing and you get twice the beer…I wish I’d started sooner.
I’ve been thinking about doing this too. Just need a 15 gal pot. Probably will need a bigger cooler MT, since mine is the 10 Rubbermaid.
Won’t the 10 gallon cooler be enough??? I was going to use that and I have a old keg that I converted into a kettle.

I’m sure it would be big enough for session beers, smaller beers. But, If I want to do a double batch of an imperial, or a really big beer, I’m just thinking I need more.
10g will hold ~25lb @ 1.25qt/lb. About a 1.060 beer.
I know, I just normally don’t mash that thick. I’m closer to about 1.6qt/lb. I’m partial to the thinner mash

Doing the math for Tkb
Can I mash this?
