Has anyone used this in a kolsch? Seems a bit high in color (8-10) to use as the base in a kolsch.
I’m currently drinking a Kolsch that I made entirely with NB’s Kolsch malt (I used their kit recipe with Kolsch malt in place of the German Pils). It’s a little darker than a standard Kolsch, but the taste does not disappoint! I’m glad I tried it.
Cool. I was thinking of using it in an alt.
I have one on tap using 100%. It’s pretty tasty!
Sounds like it might be a good base malt for other beers.
Usually I do 50/50 split of kolsh malt and pils malt. Keeps the color in the range for style.
