Keg in fridge

For those of you who have their 2.5/ 5 ga kegs in the fridge…do you keep your CO2 tank in there too???

I don’t but I suppose you could if you wanted to. A lot of homebrewers have drilled a hole in the fridge to allow the c02 tube to pass thru. Keeping the tank on the outside.
You can still carb your beer by hooking up the post once a day until it’s done.

I do. Makes no difference, other than the high pressure gauge reads a little low. AND the CO2 tank and gauges take up space for roughly one keg…

todays fridges have the heat expel tubing inside the side panels. It might be hard to figure out where to
drill a hole to get the CO2 tube thru…

You’d need to find schematics for the fridge or take off the interior panel to assure you didn’t drill through refrigerant lines.

I kept my 5 lb tank inside the fridge with my kegs for a year or so no issues, but when I got a 20 lb tank I moved it outside. Only change was adding a high pressure line through the fridge wall and the new tank. Now I have a slow leak that’s driving me crazy!

That’s why mine is outside. I have a ten lb supplying two fridges.

I have a 6 cf fridge.small. 50 in by 21 in. Frigidaire. It will be moving to the basement soon because its always been way too small. Anyway I guess it will become keg fridge/backup. It seems the easiest way
to get a gas hose in is thru the front door.
How would you make it removable for cleaning and still have the pass thru not leak heat out??

Are you talking about cleaning the hose or the fridge? The only time I’ve cleaned my gas hoses is if beer backed up in them. I spray the QD with StarSan before connecting.

I made a manifold with 1/4" pipe and fittings. A nipple goes through the side to another 1/4" male flare, and the hose from the tank threads onto that.
The nipple is just short enough that when the fittings are tight, it slightly compresses the sidewall. I also used washers inside and out.

If you just want to poke the hose through, a rubber grommet that fits snug on your hose would work.

My 10 lb CO2 tank fits just perfect in my fridge on the left where the compressor hump is. I have a multitude of bottles and cans in there, some growlers, and five corny kegs. Could probably fit a bit more, but I like it the way it is now.
