Keeping your mash pot warm

I have had good luck placing the propane tank in a tub of hot water when brewing on cold days. Of course, you have to watch that it doesn’t freeze eventually. Like Josh said.

I saw somewhere a BIAB brewer used the insulation wrap that you can buy for a Hot Water Heater and it worked pretty well. I’d assume since it’s designed to actually be around heat and is normally backed with what I think is aluminum it would withstand the heat pretty well.

That’s what I used, and an old blanket. Also made sure I let everything warm up before dough in is important. You will lose heat to the insulation, you got to warm it up no matter what you use.
