Juicers for making cider

Can i use a juicer to make cider

It would be a heck of a lot of juicing. And the quality of juice produced by juicers is debatable. Most electric juicers have high speed blades that produce friction creating heat and draw in large amounts of air which can lead to oxidation. The exception being a cold press juicer.

I gave it a shot last October. I have a fairly heavy duty Breville juicer and it handled 80 pounds of apples fairly well. It was a bit of work but I ended up with a solid 5 gallons. It’s been about six months since I juiced the apples and the cider is fantastic.

My faithful juicer and 5 gallons of fresh cider:

The final product… delicious
