In line check valve for beer engine

Has anybody tried something like this?

I refuse to pay $36 for a simple check valve from NB.

I would think that would work just fine. You are just trying to keep a non-pressurized fluid from running downhill.

I used this for the Extreme beerfest and it worked like a champ. Remember…$36 for a simple valve is bad…
