I have to ask

Hey if your the guys their portraying as craft drinkers your not drinking bud anyway. Just rallying their base. Works every time. This commercial has legs. Good job Budweiser
Heck I’ll admit when I am golfing, it is 90 degrees out etc I will happily gulp down a Budweiser actually. When I am drenched in sweat after mowing the lawn or golf I am not really looking for an Oatmeal Stout to cool me off ha ha

The craft segment doesn’t just make oatmeal stouts

I think there is something amazing about a freezing macro light lager on a hot day, but this ad is pure desperation. Here’s why it is obnoxious: Big Beer has been fighting dirty under the table with small breweries since it was called ‘microbrew’. Shelf space/tap handle manipulation, shady deals with distributors/retailers, beverage systems for retailers, you name it. Ask anyone in the industry. They just made it overt, and its pathetic. AB-Inbev’s response to the backlash is laughable as well, and it is about as pandering and placating as the NFL’s “No More” ads. They both cater to people who choose to ignore realities about the product they are consuming, which is most certainly the right of those people.

If there is nothing but Bud at a party, I won’t turn my nose up at it, but you will never catch me buying it. Frankly, all the hoarders around here snatch up Gooseweiser Bourbon County products as soon as they are released, but not for me. As a native Rochestarian, I’m still loyal to Genny for my macro suds (maybe a Blue Light here and there).

I do give the ad itself credit though: it is trying desperately to save market share by being blunt with people.

Feedback to NB: They totally should have included beechwood chips in the Pumpkin Peach kit. At least as an option.

I thought is was bullshit. I don’t care so much about the dig at craft brew but rather the hypocrissy. I think Dick Cantwell at Elysian agrees.
Here’s a good follow-up article on how pathetically hypocritical Bud is.

Sounds like the point of a Beer Bong to me.

It wasn’t any of the pot shots at craft beer drinkers that bothered me, but the fact that there was just an excessive number of cans/bottles in every scene. They had like 3 or 4 dudes unloading a SUV filled with cases. Rather than an anti-craft ad, to me the ad really just read as, “Bud, for when you just wanna get totally sh**faced.”

I no longer enjoy parties where people take bets on who will be the next one to vomit. I prefer beer with actual flavor now not because I’m a pretentious hipster, but because I’m a grown-up. When I was younger and wanted to get hammered, it was always cheap vodka for me anyway. Bud is actually directly responsible for DELAYING my appreciation of beer.

I agree with the commercial, peach pumpkin ale sounds kinda gross.

Bud is actually my beer of choice… with Pizza Hut pizza

They can keep buying up micro brewery’s and most of us who love craft beer will continue to shun those products, existing purchases and those to come. Love the Gooseweiser slam, Pietro.

I just talked to a manager at ABC liquors here locally and he stated that their macro sales are SERIOUSLY off from 5 years ago. Like a precipitous drop in past two years. Cold hard facts. And gonna get worse hopefully

And now ABC is selling growler fills from local micros! Yum
Actually, all of the fussing over the commercial that I’m reading online is as funny as the commercial itself (and it kind of illustrates the point the commercial is making. LOL.

In the end…it’s only beer…
Right on Prof! I couldn’t agree more.

Wow, just wow.
Sam really knows how to set the tone.

I actually kind of like Sam in this. I LOVED his statement about never sitting down with ABInBev.

Thought I’d resurrect this. Saw the following:

I actually put some thought into brewing a beer that went well with a burger. I love a beer and a burger. What I came up with and brewed was a fat tire style beer brewed with black pepper. Nice combo if I may say so myself. I’ve also converted a few woman who wouldn’t waste their time drinking a Bud but love my home brew. I do love the Clydesdales though.
