Hydrometer readings waaaay off

You won’t get a good mix. And it’s not that important. Fermentation will mix it better than you can. And your fg readings will be accurate

you can calculate the OG simply by volume and amount of extract used. No readings required. If you use all the extract and hit your desired volume, your reading will be what the kit predicts

For dme

(Amount of dry extract in kg multiplied by 384) divided by volume in liters

For example: (3kg dme times 384)/23 liters= 50
So OG = 1.050

Or for lme

(amount of liquid extract in kg multiplied by 308) divided by volume in liters

The 384 for DME, and 308 for LME is the hot water extract. Basically numbers for the fermentables in the extract
