How long does S-189 last?

I purchased a couple of packets of S-189 from another source in November 2010, but haven’t used them. Are they still viable? How long do they last?

Slightly off-topic, I wish NB would start carrying S-189…

They are probably still at least partly viable. Did you have them in the fridge?

Yes, they were in the fridge the day I got them…

From their web site:

I would use at least 2 packs for 1 beer. If you had 3 I would use all of them.

If you had only 1, make a 2 gallon beer. Then reuse the yeast.

Or, for $5 to replace them, just buy new.
