How do you use the quote function?

This is probably the dumbest question ever, but I have no idea how to put a line from a post in the quote box so that it says "Brewer x said: blah blah
I’ve just been copying and pasting lines. If anyone has the patience to explain what is probably a simple function, I’d appreciate it.

There’s a “Quote” button at the bottom-right hand corner of every post. If you click that, it will bring up the “Post a reply” page with that post already quoted for you.

Alternatively, if you’re already in the “Post a reply” page then if you scroll down to the topic review section there are quote buttons there too. Only instead of starting a new reply, these will insert the quote into the message you’re already working on.

Dang, I did not know that but am using it now, thanks for the heads up

There are no dumb questions.

Ah ha! So this is how people post multiple quotes to one message. Guess you learn something new everyday. I always just quoted one person from the main topic page.

You can also delete some of the text to quote just what you want to address. This is much appreciated by your would be readers!!!

Thanks.

Also, if the OP (original poster) has multiple questions, you can insert your answer in a different color within their “quote”.

I think it’s fun to misquote people…
