Hello what up with these Hop shot?. Are they the future of where hops are going ?. Are they used the same as regular hops.
its a concentrated extract of the essential oils so brewers can get the bittering compounds but not necessarily the aromatic/flavor compounds. The advantage is that you can add these to impart bitterness without adding a bunch of vegetal material to beer. It is typically added to replace the 60 minute addition, but cannot replace late additions.
I just tried a 6-er with the hop oil extracted fresh from the hop farm…… Mediocre at best…… OOPS, I am clearing taste buds of hops fer the lagers coming up soon! Sneezles61
