Homebrew Rights Expanding in Kansas

I’m very happy to report that after two years of effort the Kansas legislature has passed and the governor has signed an update to existing liquor law that will expand rights for homebrewers. It allows homebrew to be served to guests (used to be only the maker and the maker’s family) and judges in competitions. While not explicitly stated in the bill, this should now make it legal for homebrew sampling at club meetings. Previously homebrew clubs were informed by KS ABC that they cannot share homebrew.

The new updated bill goes into effect on July 1.

Congrats, glad KS has seen the light.
