Help Me Decide What to Brew

I’ve narrowed it down to the following 4 kits:

  • John Palmers’ Elevenses
  • English Pale Ale
  • Surly Bender
  • Waldo Lake Amber

I prefer beers towards the malty side of the hop/malt balance. I’m beginning to gain an appreciation for stronger amounts of hop aroma and flavor, but am still not a fan of beers where the hop bitterness really comes through.

why not brew an 80/- or an English mild? Great malt character in both of those.

If one of those four is a must, I vote Elevenses.

I vote for Waldo Lake Amber, although the others sound good too. WLA is delicious - excellent malt character and aroma, with just enough hops to balance. With such a small amount of hops, this one tends to lose its hop character fairly soon, so enjoy it fresh.

I have a hankering to brew the Elevenses also. Probably up after the Innkeeper I’m brewing Friday and the Patersbier in the next couple weeks.
