My wife and I are heading to the Charlottesville area to visit the Southern Living Idea home in September.(Sort of an annual trip we take since I’m a builder, I can write off part of the trip, and I’m cheap!) I’ve heard there are good brew and foodie tours in the area. Looking for any suggestions as we have never visited this area before.
Hopefully Danny and some others from nearby can give me some ideas.

Great town, I went to school there and still have friends that live there.
Devil’s Backbone is about the best brewery in the area. It’s worth a visit, although it’s out in Nelson County. You can get their beers easily locally even if you don’t head out there. Three Notch’d is pretty good, as supposedly is Champion (although I’ve never had Champion’s beers). Starr Hill is the big brewery in town, and they have a deal with A-B, so you’ll see them everywhere.
The best beer bar that I’ve been to is Beer Run. It’s a package store, bar, and restaurant, all in one. Recommended.
