Green Hop Farmer

Hello People!
Just started to grow some cascades last summer. They were a gift & didn’t get planted until mid summer. By last fall they grew only about 3-4 ft. then died back. This spring, one didn’t make it but the other is about 1.5 ft so far. It’s climbing (2 bines) on the hop twine steadily. Probably not too bad for SE Wisconsin. Any chance i’ll get some cones this fall, or would this still be considered first year due to late planting in 2012? I just added another cascade & a Mt. Hood a week ago. I’m thinking next year should produce well, but sure would love to throw some in a pale ale this fall!

You will probably get some, but not a lot. Next year will be great.
