I have an extract kit with speciality grains (crushed) and I won’t be able to brew right away. We are moving into a new house with a kitchen in the basement perfect for my brewing. How would you suggest I store the grains so they stay fresh. It may be month for more before I can brew.
Small amount like that could go in zip loc bags or an airtight tupperware container.
If you have a vacuum sealer use it.
I always buy grain in bulk – 50lb bags. I parse them out into 5 10lb portions, grind them at the LHBS and then tie the plastic bag until brew day. Sometimes 3-5 months later.
So far, I’m happy.
