Golden Promise in place of Canada Malting Pale?

I have some Golden Promise. How much difference in flavor would I see? I want to brew the Surly Bitter Brewer Clone. Thoughts?

I have used both malts quite a bit when I brew Surly clones. I wouldn’t hesitate to sub one for the other. I think the Canada Malting Pale Ale malt is a little less sweet tasting than the Golden Promise.

I imagine it’ll be much better using GP over anything from CM. Might not be as clonish, though.

I mean I guess my ultimate goal is a nice aromatic bitter similar to the Bitter Brewer. My wife is interested in a lower calorie, low gravity pale ale. I love this beer and told her I could make something similar!

Bahahaha!
