Just made my standard double IPA (7th batch using same/similar recipe). Normally this is an all-citra IPA, but this time I switched to galaxy for bittering, aroma, and dry hop. Transfer to secondary onto galaxy pellets the taste was fine. Slight citrus, a little dank. After 5 days of dry hop (all hops sunk to bottom) the flavor was more grassy. Anyone else experience this with galaxy, or do I have another issue?
I find that in general when I dry hop I get a “grassy” taste that goes away after a week or two in the keg.
Thanks. I typically dry hop with leaf and I haven’t encountered this before. This is the first time I use pellets for dry hopping.
+1. I agree. Maybe not with every beer I dry hop, but quite often.
