Brewing my first batch and forgot to top off the carbon so I only have about 4 gallons fermeating instead of the 5 that the recipe called for; the OG was 1.078 instead of the 1.071-1.075 targeted. What should I expect as a result? Thanks

Expect stronger beer. And fewer bottles. You may get away with telling people you brewed an “imperial” whatever.
What kind of beer is it? 1.078 isn’t too far off your target top range.
