Flavoring a strong RIS?

I have a NB RIS extract and I was going to add a few extra pounds of DME. My homebrew club is going to do a 12 beers of Christmas.

There are more than 12 of us, so I was planning on opting for something super strong. I could potentially use a ~15 month barley wine or maybe add some cacao nibs to the NB RIS.

I have a Lord Fatbottom kit, but I don’t necessarily want to mess with such an intense beer. …or do I???

N/M. I think I’m going to make a saffron tripel and leave the RIS and barley wine the same.
