First time

Brewed my first original brew today. I’ve added some things to recipes I’ve bought before but never created my own recipe. I bought enough ingredients to play with the recipe over the summer three more times. The rest will be more pale ale-ish while this is an IPA. Here’s what I came up with (some aspects “borrowed” from an SNPA clone I saw here). It’s a partial mash.

3 lbs 2 Row
1 Lb Caramel 60
4 lbs X-lite DME (1 lb @ 60, 3 lbs @ 15 mins left in the boil)
1 lb Cane sugar (@ 60 mins)

Mashed in two gals water at 155* for 70 minutes, mashout @ 170* for 10 mins and sparged in 2 gallons 170* water

.5 oz Cascade (8.1% aau) FWH
.5 oz Magnum (14.4% aau) @ 60 mins
.5 oz Cascade @ 30 mins
1 oz Cascade @ 15 mins
1 oz Cascade @ 5 mins
1 oz Cascade Whirlpool (wort at 170*, let sit for 20 mins)
.5 tsp Irish Moss at 15 mins

OG 1.064
Pitched 1 sachet (11.5 g) US-05 at about 65*
~53 IBU
I may dry hop 1 oz of Cascade depending on how it tastes later.
Gravity sample tasted pretty good.

Nice!

I hope it comes out great.
