First time growing hops. Rhysomes planted 4 weeks ago, and we have had really weird weather here in Se Wisconsin. What does the first growth look like? I have a couple of purplish nubs on the Williamette mound, but have no idea what I am looking for. Thank you.

in future years there will be no doubt, it will come up like it is trying to strangle a dog
give them a few days. they will be coming up thicker and bigger than most other weeds in the area.
