Fining with Gelatin

So I continue to debate whether or not to fine my HT clone that I used Conan yeast in, and then I thought of something.

Has anyone ever used half the amount of gelatin to drop less out? Would this work?

I wouldn’t fine that beer at all. HT is cloudy and reportedly the yeast adds to the character and mouthfeel. Fining will strip some of the hop flavor and aroma as well.
