Fermenting fluid

maybe a dumb question during fernenting there will be loss of water volume i do start out with 5gallon fluid but it it looks like at the end of fermentation there is no 5 gallon beer

Depending on the amount of hops involved in the recipe, I shoot for 5.25-5.5 gallons in the fermentor depending on the hop load. You will lose volume to hop absorption and trub left behind in the fermentor.

I believe that is why we over shoot our quantities, so we leave the" not really wanted stuff" behind. Then if you are so inclined that is where yeast harvesting comes into play too! Sneezles61
