Fermentation madness!

Hey All,

For the first time in probably 50 batches of beer had the krausen get into the air lock and out the top…but no pop top action. My main question is concerning whether or not I should replace the airlock? I wonder if some of that Krausen could make it back into the air lock and into the carboy and therefore infecting the beer having had contact with the outside world??? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Pull the airlock, clean, sanitize, and replace. No worries.
