Ferm. problems

I am new to the homebrewing world (just started my first batch of Irish red) and on my first batch I pitched the yeast at about 70*. Two hours after putting the fermentor away it started to vigorously bubble in the air lock and ended up bubbling over in the middle of the night (shot the air lock off the lid) I noticed the next morning and put the blow off tube on. When I got home from work that day there was no sign of any activity and the foam cap on top of the liquid was gone. Is my beer gonna be ok?
