East Kent vs Kent Goldings

I have a recipe that calls for East Kent Goldings hops, but all i can find is Kent Goldings. I have read elsewhere that the difference is due to the slight difference in where they are grown. Should I expect any differences in the final beer profile, or are these two varieties basically the same?

Should be fine, as long as they are grown in the UK. Don’t go with US or BC Goldings.

Wahoo is right. Genetically they are identical. They just have a different flavor depending on where they are grown. Supposedly East Kent grows better tasting Goldings than the rest of Kent. Pretty dang close though. However there are big differences when grown elsewhere in the world.
