Drippy Stout Faucet

My stout faucet drips for a long time after I use it. If I pull a pint in the evening, I will find a fairly large dried pool of stout on my drip tray in the morning. Is that common for a stout faucet?

A couple weeks after I started using it, I had to take it apart and give it a PBW soak because of some build up inside the faucet that was restricting the flow such that it would only pour out one side of the spout.

I’m thinking about getting a second stout faucet since I’ll be getting a beer gas setup in place soon. I prefer to get the same one, but if it is drippier than it should be I might look at a different one.

I have this one:

I think all faucets drip some. All my perlicks take a drip or two after every pour. But yours sounds excessive. If you have inspected and cleaned the faucet thoroughly and it still drips that much, I would contact the seller or the manufacturer for help. I would sure believe they would help you out.

The only other obvious solution is to leave a pint glass under the tap and have a beer in the morning too!

I have these taps. Forward sealing with Snaplok connectors. These taps shut off completely after pouring a beer, no drips whatsoever. These are the industry standard for commercial Pubs, Clubs & Taverns accross Australia. I have four of them on my upright fridge, great taps.

Although I really wanted to have a uniform look to my faucets, I went ahead and ordered one of these today: http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-bee … ESF-4.html

I prefer full stainless construction, but I was looking at some pics from one of my trips to the Guinness brewery in Dublin and they actually use plastic nozzles too. If it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me.

I also like the fact that I can order replacement parts if needed from Micro Matic.

Now I’ll be all set for St Paddy’s day to dispense two different stouts on beer gas!

Since I know someone out there is losing sleep over this, I thought I would report back.

The Micromatic faucet drips too, but less than the other faucet. The nozzle is smaller in internal diameter and therefore dispenses using a smaller stream, which I like better. Overall very solid construction, including the plastic nozzle. When taking it apart to clean it, the restrictor plate stays in place, unlike the other one. The other faucet is still a good one and more aesthetically pleasing, but I prefer the Micromatic one in terms of functionality.
