Disturbed Sediment

This is my first kit and I was just about to siphon from one carboy to another following the stabilization stage when the auto-siphon slipped and dropped into the sediment causing some of it to go back into the wine (Wine Expert’s Australian Chardonnay). I let it sit overnight and decided to rack to get the wine off the lees. Will the particles slowly fall out of solution over time or do I need to add the finings again and re-perform the stabilization step?

Once the solids fall out of suspention, they really can’t go back in. Any sediment kicked up after fining will fall back out right away.
