Apparently, I didn’t clean the output tube on my mash tun (cheap and easy) last time I brewed, and a little mold grew inside. I flushed hot water through it and got the mold out, but now the tubing has a couple of yellowish areas on it. What do you think? Run some StarSan through it and brew on? I was just getting ready to heat up my strike water.
The mash tun doesn’t have to be sanitary, or even particularly clean. You might want to soak it in something like PBW/CMC/OxiClean/One Step for a few minutes, just to make sure the mold is dead, but beyond that I wouldn’t worry about it.
I didn’t think so either. I went ahead and cut out the discolored part and spliced it together.
