Difficulties racking beer after dry hopping

HEEEELP!!! I CAN’T GET MY BEER FROM THE SECONDARY! I DRY HOPPED A IPA…NO BE DEAL RIGHT. I GO TO RACK IT INTO MY KEG (USING A MESH BAG OVER THE SIPHON AND I CAN’T ACHEIVE A GOOD SUCTION TO DRAW THE BEER.DID I MENTION I USED 13oz. OF PELLET HOPS? SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE.

try putting the mesh bag on the ‘out’ end of the siphon. and carefully rack the beer from under the bed of hops

edit: make sure the bag is sanitized

I can’t see how a mesh bag would keep it from flowing,
Unless you are getting the tip into the trub before starting the siphon ?

make sure the mesh bag isn’t too tight - you want it to be loose around the opening of the siphon and fastened 6-12 inches up from the inlet.

13 OZs of pellot hops in a 5 gallon batch!!!??

Shadetree, NICE!

Thanks to everyone for your replies and ideas, but some I tried . what I didn’t try was to loosen the bag around the inlet and begin racking just below the layer of hops. I’ll get back at it and let you know the outcome. thanks again!

Not sure if you have a SS raking cane but I put some of the SS braid similar that is used on Denny’s MT… 2-3" section is all that use on the end of mine for this purpose. Works great.
