Hello All! I was wondering what size pot would you recommend I purchase if I am going to buy the deluxe brewing kit. 8 or 10 gallon? I am new to the forum and new to beer brewing. I have made wine for a couple years now so now I am moving on to beer. Very addicting hobby! Thanks!
I would think seriously about the 10 gallon one. I have an 8 gallon kettle, which works fine for 3 or 4 gallon partial boils, but if you ever move up to full five gallon boils (which actually starts out at around 6 1/2 gallons) you won’t have enough headspace to prevent boilovers, unless you’re very, very careful. I would say it depends on where you intend to be in the hobby a year from now.
