Cross pollination?

I will be planting my Cascade and Chinook soon and I have a question of cross pollination? Someone told me I have to have two hop plants around each other or they will not flower. Is that true? I ask because I am thinking of planting the Cascade in my backyard and the Chinook at my cabin. The cabin has more desirable conditions for hops and I want to see what area or pants catch better (might plant more and would much rather plant at cabin). Thoughts? Can I just plant on around my house? Will it flower?

As long as they’re females they’ll put cones out no matter how many you have. Ever seen a commercial hopyard? Thousands of plants all about 5 feet apart. A solitary plant will do the same. All pollination does is allow seeds to form in the cones, more surface area for lupulin to collect. You’ll be fine with your strategy. Hop On!
