Cream Ale

I just brewed the cream ale ale today. Everything was thoroughly sanitized and all steps were followed correctly. It looks quite a bit darker than I thought it would. Almost like a Hefe Dunkel. I realize active fermentation hasn’t taken place yet but has anyone else brewed this and found the same thing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you did the extract version, it will come out darker than you expect. I’ve done it two or three times, and everybody loves it; but I was surprised at the color. Same thing with the Innkeeper kit. Apparently with the extract, it is much harder to get the lighter color. I think I’ve seen people say to only add half the extract for the boil, and then add the rest at flame out to lighten it up a bit, but I’ll leave that to the experts on board to comment.

It will also look darker in the fermenter than it will in a pint glass.
