I ordered some Briess Bonlander Munich malt back in February and, to be honest, I did not look at it closely when it arrived. I decided to put off making that particular beer in favor of a couple of others, so I stored it unopened (Maillard Malts 2 one pound sealed packages) in a refrigerator until now. I just took it out and looked at it, and this stuff is DARK. It is the same color as some English chocolate malt I have around. Any other times I used Munich in the past, it was never this dark, but I haven’t used this particular brand before. Is this normal or is something wrong?
Sounds like something is wrong, maybe a mislabel. Even munich 20 shouldn’t look that dark.
