Do I keep the wort at 70 until it starts fermenting, then chill? Or do I want to chill it down to the 50’s before pitching?
Thanks!

chill the beer down a degree or two below fermentation temp before you pitch the yeast.
Thanks!
If you leave it at a warmer temp, it will start fermenting about 15 minutes after you leave for work. Thus will be warm/hot for ~9 hours, depending on commute time.
Like Sonex said, start and keep it cool.
