My friend and I went to one of our local breweries in Charleston this weekend, Coast. We sampled their Oyster Stout. In a word, it was terrific. It’s a seasonal, and if I understand this correctly they add the entire oyster, shell and all, during the boil. It had a very unique taste. I don’t want to say briny, but it seems you could pull out the sharpness of the shells and oysters.
If you have the chance to sample it, highly recommended. I’m a reasonably large stout fan, and I would have this on tap 365 if I could make it.
