CO2 Fills south east metro twin cities

Where can I find a place in the south east st. paul metro. I dont want to exchange if I dont have to. The tank is brand new.

Look for a place called AIRGAS. they are nation wide and will fill NEW without swap. I was in the same boat…new tank and not wanting to swap for an old/filled one.

cheers.

Zip,
If it is brand new and never been filled it could have sat on the shelf and the hydro test expired. About 10 years ago it happened to me with a nice bright and shiny aluminum tank.

This link should help you figure out the date for the next test.

Going the exchange route can be simpler.

Have a good one,

google
or yellow pages.

There should be one really close to you, that I have talked to before but have no idea of the name.
Getting it refilled is going to take longer at some places than just exchanging

I live in Woodbury. The nearest place I have found is on University Avenue in St. Paul - Weber and Troseth. It is a little hole in the wall so you might go right past it if you aren’t paying close attention. Here is more info:

If you find a closer spot please post it here. Thanks.

Not too far for you. I’d call ahead and make sure they do small accounts though.

Not many Airgas locations in TC. I drive up to Ramsey to Airgas but I get some welding items there too.

Check out Toll also.

thats the one I was talking about now that I see the name and website, they had the best prices from the places I called to, but that was also well over a year ago.
I havent used them lately, my 20lb tanks last a long time

Weber and Troseth is under $11 for a 5lb tank

You may have to leave it overnight if the guy isn’t there to fill it but there prices are good nice people.

type you address (or work address) into google maps, then do a search for fire extinguisher shops.

Just exchange it, it’s easier and you will probably never see your tank anyway.

I found a place called Praxair. I am going to contact them. They apparently will fill any size CO2…

all these places fill any size, I have not found a place that only fills a certain size

They are close in relation to me. Which is nice.

a lot of the small tanks are exchange. So you should never have to worry about the hydro-test date if you take it back to where you bought it (Praxair, BOC, Airgas, Air Liquide are some of the big players), they should will do that for you. As for getting back your same cylinder, you may be out of luck, but you could always ask for one that has fresh paint on it. If you want the same cylinder back you will need to take it to someone who can keep track of it and most of the big filling plant will not track your exact exchange cylinder. its the same as the BBQ tank trader program.
