I have made chocolate stouts and chocolate porters. Has anyone ever made a lighter beer and added cocoa beans? Would a chocolate amber ale work?

Not sure about a chocolate Amber. I guess if you made it a little more malty (rather than balanced) it might work. At a beer fest once I tried a chocolate light lager. It just tasted like chocolate, no beer.
