Can you conver corny ball lock kegs to pin lock?

I am already set up for pin lock and was recently given some corny ball lock kegs. Can I convert them to pin lock? Has anyone done this?

It depends on the thread size of the kegs.

Sense you have the pin locks, you could take one post off and try it on the ball lock kegs to see if they work.

Or you can just us threaded disconnects.

The MFL disconnects might be the way to go here.

But, they do sell keg post conversion kits to go from pin lock to ball lock. Only makes since to be able to go the other way.

Normally I would do this but right now all my pin lock kegs have beer in them. I had thought about using the threaded disconnects, especially since I already have them for the pin lock, but i’ll be forced into buying a manifold sooner than i wanted. I guess either way, its gonna cost me in one form or another. I’ll have to look at my pin locks closer to see what kind they are, last time i looked i could not find the manufacturer.

If you have the threaded disconnects already, it will be cheaper to buy the ball lock threaded disconnects than it will be to by pin lock post.

I don’t see were upgrading to a manifold plays into the equation.

Because it will be a pain unscrewing the gas line all the time just to swith to another beer. Either way i found post replacements for pin lock for 8.50 a pair on another site. At that price it isn’t back converting the three ball corny lock kegs.
