Hey Everyone,
I’m a first time home brewer. I have some growlers that I plan to bottle in. These growlers are not screw top and have the rubber-gasketed swing-top closure (like the Brew For All 2L Palla Growlers sold on the website).
I’m reading mixed reviews on bottling in growlers, but everything I can find refers to the screw top growlers. Has anyone had any experiences bottling in the rubber-gasketed swing-top growlers?
Any advice on how many fizz tabs I should use when bottling in a 2L growler?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Welcome fellow brewer.
Here’s a good website for calculating priming sugar. I find sugar to be more reliable than the carb tabs…

BTW, there is no difference in the bottle carbing procedure regarding the swing tops or screw on growlers besides the obvious capping. Be sure that the gasket is in good condition to ensure a good seal.
If you already have the tabs and are dead set on using them, one tab carbonates a single 12oz bottle (350 ml) so you would add 5.5 to 6 tabs for 2L.
i think what you might be talking about in the screw tops are the one that the host sells, they are not made to be used for carbing in a bottle. they are for already carbed beer from a keg. i have never had a problem with the swing tops although i use the 1liter bottles. make sure your gaskets are good and you should be find.
