Blow off tubes for plastic buckets

I’ve seen the blow off tubes for carboys, but haven’t seen them for 5 gallon buckets. Is there such a thing ?

Sure … just remove the inside of the standard 3 piece airlock and connect hose and then into san. water.

Getting the tubing off of the airlock can be tough. I’ve broken several. I now have two airlocks dedicated to blow off tubes. The tubes never come off. I just leave them attached all the time.

I would also suggest cutting off the taper at the tip of the airlock. Sometimes you will also find plastic formed in an “X” at the tip. Make sure this is removed as that can cause your blow-off to clog, rendering it useless and causing quite a mess when it blows the top off your bucket.
