Blow off question

I bought a N.B. 1 gallon kit and was wondering if I can ferment in my 5 gallon bucket to help prevent a blow off.

It should ferment okay. You won’t need a blowoff. My only concern is that siphoning the beer off the yeast cake may not be as easy since a small volume will be so spread out.

This is a great point. I would look into the 2gal plastic fermenter for 1 gal batches.
