I’m about to order a new Blichmann Burner and I’m confused on which to get. I would like to buy the standard floor model, but I see that there is a different one for the top mounted stand version for the Blichmann Top Tier Modular Brewing Stand.
I could see myself getting a stand at some point and would hate to buy the floor burner just to not be able to use it on a stand and have to buy one all over again.
Can it be adapted or is there something I should know?
There is only one Blichmann burner as far as I know. There are seperate options for it, leg extensions, adapter kit for the Top Tier.
“Free-standing version of the Top Tier burner. Combines excellent efficiency, quiet performance, sensible stand design and the opportunity to bolt it on to a Top Tier stand in the future (requires additional installation kit sold separately).”
I just recieved one for Christmas with the leg extension and I’m loving it. I highly recommend it based on the few batches I’ve done so far. If you have some questions I would not hesitate to email or chat with our host about it, they are VERY helpful.
It’s not too late I was about to pull the trigger when our newborn woke up and I had to get into dad mode and never got around to it.
I’ll call them for sure, but my plan was to buy a burner and extension legs for now and get the stand sometime down the road.
I wasn’t aware there was a stand burner install kit, so I’m guessing I can just do this. I got confused between the listed floor style burner and stand style burner and wanted to know it the floor model could be adapted.

Burned and legs are on the way![/quote]
Nice, this is what I did before buying a Top Tier a year or so later. You won’t be disappointed, it’s a great burner. The legs may seem pricey, but they are ultra stable, you get what you pay for with Blichmann.

That’s what I figured, it’s a little more money but looks like it’ll last me for a lonnnng time. Glad to hear the legs are good, they look iffy but I’m sure it’s fine.
I just did my forst batch on this burner. It is awesome!!! It cut 2-3 hours out of my brew day (I have an electric stove that takes FOREVER to do full volume batches). I also got the leg extensions, well worth it. My brew pot is at the perfect level and very sturdy. So happy my wife hated me brewing in the house so much that she bought this for me!!
I started with about 6 gal of water for a full 5 gal batch and I think it boiled a little more than my electric stove. So I may need to go to 6 1/2 gal to start.
