Black Roasted Malt and Roasted Malt

Hi Everyone,

I currently looking to brew Deschutes Obsidian. The recipe calls for .65 kg of Black Roasted Barley (500L) and .05 kg regular Roasted Barley (300L). In my area the lighter stuff seems to be fairly tough to find (I usually go to Morebeer). Since it is such a small amount would it just be easier to just up the Black Barley a tiny bit or possibly skip it all together? Wanted to see what others thought.

Thanks!

yeah, if it’s really hard to get, that should be fine. although if it is possible, try to get some. that truly is a very small amount of roasted barley.

work with what you have available. it will still be good, and you may not be able to tell a difference
