Birds are getting my grapes!

Birds have been attacking my vines and have almost completely eaten all of my white grapes. Some of purple are gone too.

I was thinking of cutting the clusters off the vine tonight and keeping them in basement for the next two days so that I can start the crushing process. Are they going to be ok in my 68 degree basement for the next 36-48 hours? Will that have any effect on the finished wine?



If anybody was wondering what happened… I harvested them and started the wine about 24 hrs later. The only problem I found was that the pressure of all the grapes above split some of the skins on the bottom bunches.
Next year I’ll get out the gun, well maybe just netting.

Did you check the sugar content before harvesting?
Seems like some netting might have been a better choice.
